STL stands for 'Standard Tessellation Language' and is the most commonly used format for the three-dimensional model file format.
STL files are generated by Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software and are widely used in 3D printing and other manufacturing techniques. This format has a series of triangular surfaces linked to create or produce the three-dimensional model. If the number of triangulations is higher, the model will have a higher resolution with fine features.
